CareerJunction, South Africa's leading Online Recruitment solution has released industry related salary figures for 2012 based on the Engineering, Building & Construction and Mining Sectors.
The 2012 salary study was done on the top 10 industry sectors and performed by South African labour market indicator, the CareerJunction Index (CJI). Data was collected from the CareerJunction website, currently serving over 800 subscribing advertisers who advertise over 25,000 job advertisements monthly.
Salary figures are based on the latest salary offerings of 2011.
Regional Salary Differences
The salary scale below demonstrates the regional percentage difference in salary offerings within the Engineering sector. Percentages can be used to calculate location specific salaries across various occupations (as outlined above).
Results indicate that Gauteng pays the best, followed by the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

Results indicate that the North West pays the best due to high levels of demand for labour. This is followed by Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Western Cape.
